Bellows for Sky Roof pop-up roof, grey/black, from 1985, suitable for VW T3 Westfalia. We used the text from Campervan Culture because it describes the bellows very well and you can see how much work has gone into the product. We also installed the bellows ourselves and can say that it generally fits very tightly. When screwing on the top and bottom, a second person should always pull the fabric tight so that there is enough piping in each corner at the end. We also recommend leaving the roof open for 5 days immediately after installation so that the fabric stretches slightly, making it easy to open the zipper. If you don't do this, the zipper will be very difficult to close, especially in the corners.
A few more recommendations to finish off: When closing the Open Sky zipper, it is a good idea to pull the roof down a few centimeters. This relieves the locking mechanism and ensures that the zipper lasts much longer. When closing the entire pop-up roof, it is advisable to keep the sliding door open. This allows the pressure to escape more easily. This applies to all pop-up roofs, not just the T3.

Design Qualities –
We have owned a VW Westfalia for over 14 years and have also used other Westfalia vans all over the world and have slept in one more nights in that time than we can remember. Using the vehicles we supply and develop parts for on various continents from Europe to Africa to Asia to North America has given us a head start in research and development work over these years and this is reflected in the products we produce and deliver to you, lovely people. With the Panoramic Sky Roof Canvas we used our own experience of driving a Westfalia as a starting point and then threw all the rules out the window. We were already well into the prototype phase and now that we had completed this part after countless material tests, we took a break and went on a two-week trip to Baja, Mexico. During this trip two adults (Isaac and Jed) slept in the roof of a Westfalia and being on that roof in a place with so many amazing views, starry skies and hot nights, together with our previous experience, gave us the final inspiration to get this new canvas where it belongs design-wise.

Usage -
As the Panoramic Sky Roof Canvas is a new product, we are confident that it will perform in any weather conditions. Fitting -
Roof covers require a certain level of skill to fit. However, we believe this should be the easiest to fit of all the roof cover styles on the market. This is due to its design and the fact that the entire front panel zips out. The front corners are really easy to reach and you can also get to the hard to reach bottom front corner screws. Please also note that this cover only requires the top plastic strip to be fitted just outside the top aluminium strip as is the case with the bottom rail and not inside the top U-groove as was the case with the factory cover.
We recommend that the fitting work is carried out by a skilled/experienced person. There are no fitting instructions but we will try to provide some sort of fitting video for you shortly. However, we do offer a full fitting service here at CVC Hanger so drop us a line if you would like to use the fitting service we offer here for our own products.
Fitting Note: The cover needs to be fitted with the top piping on the outside of the silver rail along the top on the roof of the van as shown in the diagram (last picture in the gallery) below. The front corner straps go on the outside and the side middle straps go on the inside. We recommend removing the roof and turning it over for fitting as this results in a nice uniform fit and significantly less hassle. The front bottom corners are also very easy to fit with this cover as the entire front is zipped up."
